Finding  rolls of undeveloped film is about as Christmas as it gets around this house. These photos marked the end of last winter, early March and a trip to Circus Town. I mentioned in an earlier post that I had about 5 more rolls of film to get developed, so we’ll see what images those bring into the new year. I promised myself in 2010 that I’d take more analog photos and I hardly took any. It’s easier to lug around my digital camera than my film cameras, but I don’t want to use that an excuse. If the project calls for film, I have to stick to that promise.

twilight

I have  rolls of film that I finally got developed, some from the last snow storm in February, this color roll from a trip we took  in March to find Circus Town. Finding these negatives is like revisiting that moment all over again, even though it was just an ordinary day. I don’t remember taking some of these. I thought they captured that feeling of an upcoming storm, when the news casts predict an apocalyptic amount of snow, where you can stay inside reading or watching movies and excuse yourself from what has to be done for the day.

Summer Tradition

I took these photos last year when I went to Kennywood with Ralphie, Bee and Billy – kind of cheating, but I never posted these on here and summer has been so busy, I didn’t get a chance to go this year at all. It’s making me nostalgic for roller coasters and cotton candy, skeeball and the smell of funnel cakes as it gets dark and the park lights up like Christmas.
