Sylvania Woods: TWII

June 4th’s Unblurred art installation features TWII’s Sylvania Woods. It’s a sci-fi, snowglobe version of the wildlife dioramas at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, which is also where TW makes dinosaur bones full-time. Part of my obsession with dioramas are the fake things used to recreate something living, and in this piece, I love pulling open the curtain and examining the details of this 3D still life — a portrait of Pennsylvania forest behind city glass.

It is a beauty, but so hard to photograph, which is why I concentrated on the details. But it adds to the mysterious woods, don’t you think?
